What is A2P 10 DLC? 
10DLC refers to a system in the United States that allows businesses to send Application-to-Person (A2P) type messaging via standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers. 

Why is this happening? 
This is due to rules and regulations by the FCC, TCPA, and CTIA to verify the identity of a business/entity to ensure that companies/individuals are being compliant with the policies enforced by US mobile network carriers that have been set in place to protect recipients in the US from spam and robocalls. 

To send text messages successfully to network carriers like AT&T, Tmobile, Verizon, and more, all businesses must register their 10 DLC number under  The Campaign Registry™ (TCR).

Main Goal:

  • Verify the identity of the sender to avoid spammers.
  • Ensure that the recipient has opted-in to receive texts from the sender
  • Increase deliverability and engagement for businesses sending text marketing

How is this related to Wise Agent? 
In short, our WiseTexting feature uses A2P text communications. 

Wise Agent (application) allows our members to send text messages to their contacts (person) through the member dashboard. They do this by purchasing a local phone number, which consists of a 10-digits (10 DLC). 

Who does this affect?
This will affect anyone who will be sending business text messages to US phone numbers. 

What information is required for registration? 
Wise Agent members will be classified into two different groups. Sole Proprietors (Sole Prop) and Standard Brands.

Sole Proprietor: This is used for members without an Employee Identification Number (EIN) or Tax ID. This registration is completed directly from your Wise Agent account and requires the following information. There is a one-time registration fee of $80.

Standard Brand: This is available for members with an Employee Identification Number (EIN) or Tax ID. This registration process is done manually by a Wise Agent team support representative. The member must have an EIN and will require the member to fill out the following form.

Registration & Texting Fees:
Standard Brands: There is a one-time registration fee of $80. A Wise Agent billing rep collects payment by charging the card on file associated with your account. Once payment has been fulfilled, we will submit your registration and payment to the TCR (The Campaign Registry). After registration, there is an $11 monthly fee for your texting number, which comes with 1000 text messages monthly.

Sole Proprietor: There is a one-time fee of $80 for every brand registration. Wise Agent collects payment by charging the card on file associated with your account. Once payment has been fulfilled, we will submit your registration and payment to the TCR (The Campaign Registry). After registration, there is an $11 monthly fee for your texting number, which comes with 1000 text messages monthly.

What is the registration process? 
The registration process will consist of four easy steps broken down into two parts.

Part 1 - Brand registration: This information is collected to identify who you are as a business to carrier networks.

  • Wise Agent collects your profile/brand information, including a one-time $80 registration fee for the sole prop and standard brand. (these fees are submitted to the TCR).
  • Wise Agent submits that information for verification to our text messaging provider, who then submits that information to The Campaign Registry (TCR). You will receive a text message from (TCR) to confirm your registration during this process. (you can only use your personal number 3 times for brand registration)

Part 2 - Campaign registration: In the context of text messaging, a “campaign use case” refers to a specific purpose for sending messages. This is seen as the type of messages you will be sending; i.e., marketing messages and customer care messages.

  • Once you have successfully confirmed your brand registration (identity), Wise Agent will submit your “campaign use case” along with your registration fees to the TCR for vetting.
  • The vetting process will take approximately 7-10 business days (this timeframe is a rough estimate provided by the TCR to Wise Agent. This is not a guarantee). During this stage, you will be limited in the number of text messages you can send through the system.

Please note that if your campaign fails, Wise Agent will attempt to resubmit your campaign registration. If the campaign fails after the first free submission, we charge the $15 fee for each additional submission and send it directly to the TCR.

What happens after I register? 
After submitting your brand and campaign registration, you will be prompted to select your Wise Agent texting number. You can send limited text messages while your campaign is still being vetted.

Once the campaign vetting process is completed and your campaign use case has been approved, you will then be notified via email that your texting number is successfully registered, and you can send out bulk marketing messages through Wise Agent.

How many texting numbers can I purchase?

Sole Proprietors are allowed to purchase one texting number per brand registration. If you are working in a team and wish to have multiple texting numbers, you must register each of your team members as a Sole Prop. If you're not working in a team and wish to have multiple texting numbers, you must complete the brand registration process for each texting number. Standard Brands are allowed to purchase up to 500 texting numbers per brand registration. This brand registration is available for members with an EIN.

What if I do not register? 
Unregistered numbers will experience increased message filtering - meaning their messages will be flagged as spam and they will not be delivered to the recipient; especially when sending messages in bulk, with links or with photos/videos attached to the text.

This will also incur increased fees from the recipients' mobile carriers. 

We will not be forcing members to register for the A2P Brand Registration; however, you will not be able to use the Wise Text feature if you do not register.
