Before you set up the Google Sync to be activated on your Wise Agent account, it might be a good time to "clean house". Remember that if you have contacts that you no longer use or who have erroneous information, once you perform the initial sync this information will end up in two places (three, if you also choose to sync your phone).

  1. The Other Contacts Group - Google Contacts has a default setting that will add any email address to whom you send an email to your "Other Contacts" group with a blank name. You may wish to peruse this contact group in Google before syncing and either add a name to the email address or delete the contact... otherwise you could end up with many nameless contacts in Wise Agent.
  2. Find/Merge Duplicates - Google contacts has a feature that can do a lot of your cleanup work for you. Once you clear out or add names to the Other Contacts group, navigate to your main "contacts" view in Google and click the "More" button. Then click "Find & merge duplicates...". You will see a list of contacts whose names are duplicated. Merge any of these which are actual duplicates.

    3. iPhone/iPad Users - Google contacts will sync to an iOS device, however, there are a couple of things to consider. First, the only Google contact group which will sync to an iOS device is the main contact group, known as "My Contacts". If you already have a Google account and do not yet sync to your iOS device, add any contacts you wish to sync from Google to your iPhone/iPad to the My Contacts group. If you do not have a Google account yet, add a category in Wise Agent's client list called "My Contacts" and place all the clients you wish to sync to your iOS device in this category. The second thing to consider is that while Google will sync to an iOS device it will not sync to the iCloud. If you currently sync your iOS device with the iCloud you may appear to have duplicate contacts once the initial sync with Google is performed. These are actually just separate iCloud and Google contacts. You may filter which set of contacts you see in your settings.

To save you more work down the road, we recommend you follow these recommendations prior to performing your first Google/Wise Agent sync.
